There are two groups of bunker survey software covering shore, ship and barge-to-ship calculations:
in US customary units and in Metric units.
Calculations in US customary units for the shore, ship's tanks and barge-to-ship transfer are covered by the program Bunker US.
Calculations in Metric units for the shore, ship's tanks and barge-to-ship transfer are covered by the program Bunker EU.
Both the program Bunker US, which calculates in US customary units and the program Bunker EU
which calculates in Metric units have the same list of cargo operations as shown on the picture below:
You can select either to calculate on basis of ASTM D1250-1980 or as per ASTM D1250-2004 which was re-approved in 2008 and
then in 2019:
For your convenience in Bunker EU you can use a built-in interpolation
calculator of volumes in Metric units allowing to take into account simultaneously product level (ullage or innage) and the trim or
list correction:
In Bunker US you can use a built-in interpolation calculator of volumes either in Metric units or in US customary units:
To save your time you can select a standard text for each cargo operation and a standard list of tests either for
IFO or MDO as shown on the pictures below:
When filling in your shore tank report, you can select the shell material and specify, whether the shore tank is
insulated or not, whether measurements were made by the tape measure or by the tank radar. These selected options
will be taken into account in the calculation of shrinkage factors for the shell of the shore tank and the shrinkage
factor for the tape measure.
As you can see, all these programs have a lot of useful features designed to automate and facilitates Bunker Survey.
